UM-Kansas City Chancellor Martha W. Gilliland announced today her decision to resign as chancellor effective Dec. 31, 2004. She will continue at UMKC as a tenured professor in the UMKC School of Computing and Engineering.
"I commend Chancellor Gilliland's efforts to promote strong and effective partnerships between the 萌妹社区-Kansas City and the Kansas City metropolitan area," said 萌妹社区 Board of Curators President Mary L. James. "I am confident that 萌妹社区 President Elson S. Floyd will continue to work closely with all campus constituents to encourage effective two–way communications on campus and sustain the progress that has been made under Martha's leadership."
